Just for the record - legally, an "assault" is defined as attempting to hurt someone, but does not physically make contact (ie lunging at them, etc). "Battery" is when they actually make contact and hurt the person. The fact that this guy lunged at the cop means that he can be arrested for assault.

So it's gigantic, basically :P

haha awesome, I live in Clovis NM (tiny little town, might as well be in Texas).

You don't happen to live in the Southwest US, do you? Because I'd definitely travel a short distance to hang out with you :D PM me if you'd like - smallfrymcnab@yahoo.com

Yes, it seems that unfortunately some "Christians" who have gone before us have put people on automatic defensive mode whenever we speak up. I put the quotes around Christians because those who treat others in that way aren't truly Christian, to me (they aren't acting according to the Book).

Thank you for sharing all of this - I've been looking for a place to comment and figure I'll stick it here...as I'm also a Jezebel-reading, Christ-loving Baptist :) I agree with everything you've said, we have very similar stances. I also don't want a special cookie, just wish that we wouldn't be painted with such a

As a white girl with super-curly-yet-not-quite-enough-to-have-an-afro-hair...I have some serious hair envy right now. I *adore* afros. I think they are so cool and pretty (when taken care of properly, as with every other hair type). *envy rant*

I worked at Motherhood Maternity for a year, and they have some really good bras (even for non-pregnant/feeding ladies!). The smallest my store carried was a 34D, and the largest we carried was a 44H. If you fall within that range, I'd recommend checking them out (if you have one in your area, obviously). They are

Hey - I'm a 23 year old woman, and I had a tonsillectomy in May. I'd had two surgeries before (wisdom teeth and laproscopy), and for some reason my anxiety still skyrocketed before the tonsillectomy.

Piper! She's adorable, congrats :)

Yes! Even from my boyfriend, whom I am very much in love with. Something about that phrase is just weird to me.

Happy Birthday!!!

YES. So much. I have nothing substantial to contribute to this that you (and others) haven't already said, so I'll just stop here. Thank you for saying this!

YES! I thought the exact same thing. Someone needs to have a Tyra moment with her. I really hope Amanda gets the help that she obviously needs.

*Not* bodysnarking...but does her skin look orange, or is that just me? I think I'm becoming desensitized to the look of fake tans because I didn't notice anything "off" until I saw her face...and then I realized that her entire body looks orange to me. Am I alone in this?

I'm currently 22, and I would KILL for a $29k/year salary, haha. The rest of it sounds about right though :) Ah, 22...definitely cannot relate to Taylor Swift, which is why this song makes me want to rip my hair out.

You are a subjective genius, haha. I didn't realize it until you said it, but a part of me does feel that I need the approval of his parents to validate our relationship...and I shouldn't let that guide me.

Hi, thank you so much for the hug, first of all! I really needed that pep-talk :)

Yay, so glad to hear that you two were able to work through that! I'm about to move in with my boyfriend in late-June (we've also been long distance), and I'm excited as hell but also a little anxious for that first significant fight to happen. Hopefully ours will resolve, too :)

This will probably be a bit long-winded but I really need some advice and/or a hug about this topic right now.
