I've been fond of Dreamhost for years, and the affiliate program rocks - I can pass on discounts and still get a little slice of my own. I can't beat the 222 code they gave Lifehacker, but surreal40 will last forever and get you $40 off. A great overall host, I swear by them.

VOTE: shutterfly.com

WP 2.8 now has a surprisingly good build in editor - you can edit plugin and theme code from within the admin panel. Not only does it highlight syntax, but it also has a dropdown list of all the WP functions in use, which you can select to be forwarded straight to the docs page for that function. Extremely useful,

I am a fan of Velcro ties, and I found an excellent source - My local Dollar Tree sells generic cable ties - 10 for $1. Look for them next to the cheapo Wii-mote silicon skins and crappy hard plastic iPod skins. Not as nice as Belkin, but unbeatable for small to medium quantities, and (geek) stocking stuffers. :)

@bodah: Enabling push will likely use more battery - push anything runs a lot more often than every 15 minutes. For the sake of my battery, I poll every 15 minutes. I don't need the distraction of email that much, even though it's cool to know instantly. I should probably go to every 30 or 60 minutes, but I have

I wonder - if your laptop is without a 'net connection and you print anyway, does it queue it up until you're back online? This would be a nice feature.

My last job was wonderful. Good pay for work I liked, rocking coworkers and a fun atmosphere to cap it off.

If you are looking to shave minutes off of work related calls, stand for the duration of the call. Not only will you sound better, as pointed out above and elsewhere, but it helps you stay on task because you're less comfortable.

My family has a talent that has been passed down - we can wrap anything. Rakes and snowshovels are sort of family legend - we have wrapped them both, and much more. Bags are too easy and no fun. Yeah... not as green as it could be. I'll grant that.

Is there a free option for PC users?

@alfista: That's how I won my sweetie's heart - I cooked up a batch of hamburger helper and added a bunch of extra stuff to make it a bit more like real food, then right into tupperwear and over to where she was studying for a big test. That was over 6 years ago and she still tells people about it once in a while.

@SurrealDreams: Oh, heh. My site is surreal-dreams.com. Duh. It's my blog/gallery/place I put stuff for you to enjoy/learn about. Don't visit, it will probably stunt your growth.

I too use dreamhost.com and I love it. I have a PostNuke Blog which I have run for around 5 years. It started as an art gallery, but I got hooked on posting crappy little articles, like photos of our recent tornado.

OK, here's an important question from someone who's familiar with the disk image idea, but never used it - when you restore the image, what do you get? 1. A drive with nothing on it but the contents of your image, or .2 the image + anything new?

Fireworks has a batch tool in it as well. You can pick a set of images, choose a series of actions, with parameters, then choose to replace the original files or put the batch results into a new folder. It's pretty straightforward and works reasonably well.

Is there a PC equivalent? What about Linux for all the Tux fans?

I scored an 8, but my results were pretty poor. Google still lists my old, defunct website (offline for over 2 years!) 1 result ahead of my current, in service site. How do I convince Google to delist my old site when it's been 404 for ages?

Supposedly dryer sheets work as not only mosquito repellent, but shark repellent as well. I wouldn't stake my life on either. MythBusters has probably already sorted out both.

I usually use Unlocker for this - but I don't care who locked my file, I just want it back, since I'm generally only doing one thing with a given file at a time.

Thanks to Norbert & Colvin! I'll be sure to pass on the Joost love.
