Because automakers need buzz and VW's regular offerings would get them almost no love from the press. So they show the batshit stuff that they will never give us, all the journos lose their shit, then VW goes back to cranking out Passats and Jettas.
This would probably cost about $60,000 to sell in America. 1 person would probably buy it and then it would remember that it's a VW and break down. The original owner will sell it to somebody from VWvortex for about $12,579.35. The new owner will then go on to brag about how it's the greatest performance car ever and…
Front bias AWD shoving power out back through an sketchy angle gear... I enjoy Haldex AWD systems... But compared to the inline transaxle Subaru uses, it's most certainly inferior.
The Audi looks like a feminine version of the Chrysler.
I really don't care about material quality and fit/finish, to be honest.
I only promoted this so more people can see your heresy.
Is this a Haldex-based AWD system?

If only Cadillac would realize that it isn't a C-class/A4/3-series competitor and adjust the pricing accordingly. The whole Cadillac lineup (Escalade not included) is obscenely overpriced. Not that I'd buy one (aside from an Escalade) anyway.
Well to be honest, no other car based movie has successfully captured audiences like the F&F franchise so why not just ride the gravy train, all the way to mashed potato town?
Meanwhile we still can't get a Scirocco. They can keep the batshit golfs and just give us something people actually want.
I do not see any rust on that picture.
