Cmon Doug. I dont even work in the automotive industry and can tell you the reason why it costs what it does. Each one of those cars is 100% r&d and rework costs that toyota didnt even get to recoup from that 400k price tag. Thats what happens when you make a car and say accountants be damned. Im surprised the entire

Breaking news: more hand jobs for Hennessey. Hopefully he didn't screw over this customer like he's rumored to have done with several others.

Breaking news: Tuner tunes car!

Cone on Doug, I give you more credit than that, unless you are trolling. The LFA cost 375k because Toyota/Lexus produced everything in house. They didn'tfarm out anything, only Yamaha, which they partly own, for tuning the exhaust note. Built their own Carbon fiber loom. And chances are it would have cost more and

I always thought the LFA was to simply show the Lexus could do something interesting. This show of force also helps Lexus legitimize their F division.

I disagree. The Toyota 2000GT is still a halo car for Toyota, just like the Ford GT is still a halo car for Ford. Sure, a Nissan GT-R is an attainable halo car for the brand, but it's for a budget brand. It does nothing for Infiniti.

Maybe its just me but I'm not liking these newer RCR's because it seems like he is going too far off track with his funny "stories".

My familys 06 pilot is a road trip machine. Not terrible mileage, no problems WHATSOEVER not a sensor or cat or any of that crap in 190k miles, plenty of space, only new car my father has ever bought and hes had dozens of cars

Exactly, but Jalopnik has never been know as being an objective outlet. They always play up who they like or get money from, Hennessey, Block, Ford ect... If you want journalistic integrity Jalopnik is not the place.

Hey all you magazine editors and website writers, here's a thought take a CRV out to a snowy hill and try it. But I guess that would be actual journalism and it would require work.

Fuck Ken Block

I don't want to be the umpteenth Block hater, but any other driver smacking the wall on the first corner of the first stage would have been roundly lambasted as an idiot. Kenny from the Block gets a "just ain't care."

Good lord if I have to read another story about Ken Block somehow fucking up and "Ain't carin'" I'm going postal.

Ken Blocks stunts are cool, but he's never been that good when time matters.

This might have been a good occasion to use your horn a few times.
