Them saying lighter than the CTS probably means its lighter than the twin turbo V6 equipped CTS V Sport, since the CT6 will also be using the twin turbo V6, that comes in at a hair under 4,000lbs. By lowering the weight of the chassis it will offset the weight increase from the battery packs.

Since this one is going to be twin turbo V6 I would bet they are comparing it to the CTS V Sport with the twin turbo V6 that comes in at 3,952lbs. I really doubt that with a twin turbo v6 and heavy battery packs it will be under 3,600lbs.

Honestly the Taco is not much longer in the tooth than the first gen Colorado was. We are just getting to the time when mid-sized trucks are going to be getting refreshes. One of the main reasons GM refreshed faster than Toyota is because GM was still losing to the Taco in sales.
