...and those ole paperbacks are fully fleshed out stories that first appeared in 70's Heavy Metal mag, complete with awesome Berni Wrightson and Frank Frazetta sketches...!

Yeah I was actually thinking the same thing when I wrote the original comment.

OTOH I can totally picture those titles on the covers of old ‘80s sci-fi paperbacks and that actually makes me excited for this, somewhat. 

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. 

At first, I thought the Drider was the Borg Queen from First Contact. 

I thought the same thing, plus Batman Begins, Thor, Breath of the Wild, Avatar, John Carter, Prisoner of Azkaban. But mostly Star Wars.

Saw a Dungeons and Dragons Drider at 1:28, and freaking Goro from Mortal Kombat at 1:58.

At least moving forward Snyder fans can be told “THIS is your Snyderverse now.  Stop fixating on Snyder ever coming back to DC, and move on.”

The director’s cut will be three times as long. Not because of restored scenes, but because of all the slow-mo.

So part one is “A Child of Fire” and Part 2 is “The Scargiver” . . .

I see Gladiator, Star Wars (natch), Dune, Firefly, Game of Thrones...
