He's always been an asshole. Many directors from Antoine Fuqua to (yes) Michael Bay have complained about him being difficult to work with. Funnily enough, it was Kevin Smith's rants that outed his dickish habits. Before that, people weren't paying attention.

I don't know if you ever played Bloodborne or not, but it was a balls-out scathing indictment of christianity and religion in general. But since, the story was hidden and obscured, not many people/critics figured it out during its' release.

The stuff in Final Fantasy basically juggled many cultures' mythology. I find it to be very well done.

Chill out. You may hate these movies but they really aren't that much different than your average Fast and Furious/Marvel blockbusters. Bottom-feeding entertainment meant to gratify the mass market.
