I'd mostly agree with you but that scene in the ship where the guy stabs a slave is pretty far fetched and seems like manipulation and the movie does have its share of overall "oscar clip" BS moments that you can tell were designed purposefully so. Still, a very good film but those still stuck out like a sore thumb.
