I did think of this whilst writing my comment, however I’ve seen it happen far too many times that big name reviewers gloss over the bugs and still give over-the-top high scores. Like No Man’s Sky was reviewed quite well on launch day but it was a mess that I wish I could have saved my money on.

The question is, do we need prerelease or day one reviews? Probably not. Admittedly, it’s all down to personal preference but I miss not knowing every aspect of a game before I buy it. It’s hard to surprise people or be surprised anymore. There’s too much information available about games before release.
