I posted this story last year, but I was sort of late in my submission and it ended up buried about 5,000 comments down. Now, two days into the contest and there’s already 365 comments! Well, here’s hoping it gets seen this year.

Gonna need a picture of that artwork, Chief.

Oh, this one really creeped me out. Sounds like a demon.

I’ve got one I call “Old Gray Thing” that I always forget to post. It was a paranormal encounter but I’m still not sure what exactly it was, and I’ve always been curious if anyone else has seen one too. I’m doxxing myself if anyone I know reads this, but here goes nothing...

Chills. Sorry for what you had to go through, and I hope that Leslie is ok, wherever she is.

It might be one of the more slightly convincing ones in a sea of obvious fakes (the events of the story seem a little far out there to me), but I’m drawn to this description of Bethany as a midwestern mom because there is a woman I went to college with who also couldn’t tell a story to save her life and the only way I

Full disclosure / Trigger Warning: This post could be triggering for people who have experienced abuse.

Nope.

I told this one before, but I posted really late so I’ll try again this year.

Have you ever heard of the boxcar theory of time? It’s also known as chronodisplacement and sounds a lot like what you experienced. The idea is that instead of a continual flow, time is a series of instants hooked up together like boxcars. Normally you experience things as continuous and smooth, but occasionally some

Our pet dog passed away unexpectedly late last year. We grieved and were despondent for months. It literally felt like there was a gray pall over us.

This is the scariest story I know.

Same here. I despise scary movies, but I love scary STORIES.

Me too. Somehow reading them is less scary???

It’s weird because I absolutely hate scary movies I hate being scared but I LIVE for these. Maybe its just because they're written and I like reading. I was just checking yesterday and was worried they weren’t doing it this year!! Woo something fun!

AAAAA I *live* for these every year, even though oftentimes they creep me all the way out. Can’t wait to see this years’ submissions (except the inevitable dullards who think it’s witty to post some half-assed thing about Trump).
