I have a thing for tragic romances. The ending of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," with the death of Li Mu Bai just slays me.

I own only a dozen DVDs or so, only my absolute favorites, because I rarely re-watch movies. 'The Thing' is one of those twelve.

I was hoping for 'news anchor' or 'local politician.' Nope. Billboard model face. Sums up the whole (depressing) character.

Problem Bear
The Skagway police would have shot him years ago.

Goddammit.
Another tax on living in a rural area. We pay a grotesque amount of money monthly for satellite internet that occasionally works. Forget streaming: we can't even watch YouTube videos without exceeding our download allowance.

Came here to say this. Got to catch the Grand High Mountain Tour several years ago; music from O Brother and Cold Mountain. Excellent show.

You're all killing me, just killing me.
It's always great to get a different perspective on this show - Yes!

My lowest low
My friend and I were broke, underemployed and stressed out from grad school. We decided to spend Halloween as 'Rich and Successful,' which meant eating Ben&Jerry's from the carton and watching television until we went to bed at 10. (It's irony, see.)

Transmetropolitan. I'd also watch a film based solely on his Twitter feed.

I also thought of Neil Young. And GnR, and then I just got lost in the marvelous rock opera horridness.

I feel now is a good time to mention
this is a fucking amazing Metalocalypse.

"Dethhealth" was a near-perfect twenty minutes of television.

Thank you, teadoust, for saying what I was about to.

To say nothing of the theme music.

Heh, my best friend's brother-in-law was the baby near the end. Ever so often he still receives a royalty check.

Face ripping, crawling T-bone maggot steak, swimming pool full of dead things. Ulllgh. I haven't seen it in ten years.

Fucking E.T. To this day I have never watched it start to finish. I remember in second grade requesting to read in an empty classroom when there was a class showing. To make matters worse somehow a near-life-sized E.T. plush toy found its way into our house (I have NO idea where this thing came from). I used to
