Agreed on Cosby Show (to the extent that I'm familiar with it). Boy, that bit in Himself where he does contemptuous impressions of what drunk and high people act like is pretty squicky now, though!

Long series of ranked matches are the best! I've had ones where I got dominated repeatedly and then eventually figured out my opponent and went out on a win streak, and the exact opposite of that, and both are just a ton of fun!

Man, if I could only talk milady into us becoming a two-Switch household!

I've found that Betrayal has decent replay value, provided that everyone's okay with playing a game that is not at all balanced for competition (that, perhaps, couldn't be balanced for competition!). Also, if you can rotate some new folks into your gaming group, that always freshens things up: having at least one

No innovation here: I'll play ARMS and me and milady will play Overcooked!.

Proposed WWE angle:

At the end of GLOW, I wanted more wrestling, and a friend suggested Lucha Underground. It's fantastic: great characters (colorful, varied, and beautifully performed), great high-flying wrestling (to the extent that I can judge), and remarkably well executed long form plotting.

We're on world 3 and I don't think we've hit 3 stars yet!

I haven't tried it in Ranked Mode yet, but in both the campaign and Party Mode I've had some real success using Master Mummy with dual Megatons and flipping the script with some relentless offence and a dodge-based defence!

That's my big concern: that I'll get to the higher rankings and discover that most of the people there are just there because they're great at precisely timed Master Mummy guard-to-punch transitions!

The controls are pretty frustrating! Milady badly wishes there was a D-pad control option; I think if they added a highlight for pickups that was similar to the highlight that appears to tell you where you're about to put it down most of my problems would be solved!

Yeah, this is a great place.

ARMS and Overcooked! for me! Still haven't picked up Splatoon 2 but… maybe this Sunday!

Beads?!

Though, as an addendum to #4, I'll note that if you have some food you haven't eaten, you can check the recipe that makes it in the menu!

1. You'll get a bigger screen out of it, and a few of the shrines that use the gyroscope for puzzles are significantly easier if you have a free Joycon in your hand. Otherwise, it's a pretty similar experience, and I've heard anecdotally that it actually runs a bit better in handheld mode!

Splatoon with that mini-game was pretty satisfying… wait, did that mini-game play during load screens?

Does Splatoon 2 have any non-Turf War PvP modes available yet?

I just might go pick up Splatoon 2 on Sunday! In the meantime, I'm down to nothing but ARMS!

Summer vacation! Playing the usual (ARMS and Master Trials) and just finished NieR: Automata (about which more later! Holy shit!), in between a bit of reading and a bit of hanging out and a lot of beer.
