Well all of the DOHC 5 speeds were just as quick, only difference being the lower final drive on the ACRs and the R/Ts IIRC.

The first gen Neon punched very far above its weight. I had a first gen Neon and I could beat all manner of F bodies, Mustangs, Corvettes etc. on the tighter courses. I've driven a Cobalt and no sir, they are not comparable in any regard other than they are both cheap piles of shit.

As a former 1997 Neon ACR coupe owner I agree. Mine came factory with Koni adjustable struts on all four corners and an exploding head gasket.
