This may be a dumb question but why would paying cash for repairs have any impact on whether the event was reported to Carfax? Are you saying it was some sort of accident/insurance claim that the original owner never reported to their insurance company or are you implying that they slipped extra cash to the BMW

This happened back when I was in high school (1995ish – yeah, I’m old). There were 3 of us in my friend’s car on our way to drop off one guy. It was late at night, so not many cars on the road. We make a left at a major intersection with only one other car there. Drop our friend off and on the way back as we come

You have that backwards. Inflation is a measure of the purchasing power of a dollar, so when inflation is positive the purchasing power of a dollar goes down. So something that cost $1.00 in 2015 will cost $1.02 in 2016 which means $1.00 in 2015 is worth $0.98 in 2016. Inflation rate is usually a minimum hurdle rate

Source?

BMW reported that his blood pressure was about 1.5 psi too low.

So then don’t ride a motorcycle. If safety is your priority, drive a car. Not saying that safety is not a concern for cyclists, but it cannot be the #1 priority. Simple risk/reward trade-off. You want all the exposure and freedom of a motorcycle? Fine by me, but don’t ask for sympathy because they are more dangerous,

What about something like leasetrader.com? You can search for something within your price range, likely won’t have to put up any sort of down payment, don’t have to worry about your credit score (I don’t think) and most of the cars there are under warranty should something go wrong. It is not ideal for the long term

Read up on the Dunning-Kruger Effect (if only to read about McArthur Wheeler, the inspiration for their study), stupid people are doubly burdened. Firstly, they are stupid and secondly they are unaware of just how stupid they are.

Daily truck driver here. Suburbs of Philly. Doug, you know how to reach me.

No it’s not ok, ever, for one simple reason: The Kruger Dunning Effect basically says that the worse someone is at a given skill set the better they judge themselves to be at it (basically too stupid to know they are stupid). Which means that there are a whole lot of very poor parents who don’t even realize how bad

Can confirm. I had an 87 Dodge Daytona turbo and cannot tell you how many times people riding in it thought there was a cop car behind us when it started to spool. Also, is it technically called turbo lag if the turbo never actually shows up in any appreciable way?
