These two helped create this atmosphere. By turning politics into irreverent pop culture, they opened the door for pop culture to take over politics.

The back and forth dialogue is just swearing. There's nothing quotable or witty about it. There were some really great sight gags, like when they were talking on the walkie talkies. But overall I thought it was pretty bad. I'm more than willing to give it a second and third chance though.
ST09 works as a very good flashy 21st century reboot of a previous decade's IP. Compared to a Transformers or The A Team, for instance. But that's all they'd be salvaging. It's not Trek in anything but name.
I mean, I do think the cast is good for these kind of high octane movies. Better than watching fat Riker fight a Reman, that's for sure. But I'd rather the Abramsverse just be purged in 2017 by the new show.
This news makes me want to NOT see Beyond in theaters just to help the ticket sales tank so they don't even consider making Star Trek 4 featuring Kirk's Dad
Maybe some studio executive was stuck in a time loop and kept trying to change the name of the movie but could never quite get there…
If you like this, you would love the TNG Recut series by Major/General/Admiral Grin. Unfortunately they, like the El-Aurians, have been scattered into the far reaches of the internet by the evil invading force known as DMCA.

Just the concept of Sulu being "closeted" with a wife and kids like it's the 1950s or some shit is so fucking dumb.
I think if they wanted to be boldly progressive they should have made Spock and Kirk gay in this movie.
Caught this on Netflix a few months ago. Pretty decent film actually.
I thought it was a pretty queer thing to begin with. Make the character gay…because the actor who originally played him was gay?
Wasn't nostalgia considered a mental disorder at one time?

The War dealer is the same actor as the blackjack dealer that takes over in this scene from Casino:
Christmas Vacation is cool but no way it beats the original Vacation. Fucking classic
