I actually don't understand why "Labor Pains" recovered such a lukewarm review. It was probably my favorite episode this season, even if that's not saying much.

I didn't like it. At all. "Holidays of Futures Passed" was a classic Simpsons episode that didn't need to be elaborated on. They kinda ruined one of the best latter-day Simpsons episodes. Sure, there were some funny bits, and bonus points for Amy Poehler, but it couldn't save this train wreck.
The second I read about what this episode was about, I knew it was gonna be epic. No other show that I regularly watch has referenced the idea of "bronies", and even when I know it wasn't trying to be, it was surprisingly satirical. And hilarious. And touching. And epic.
Nope, luckily it was just a bunch of rather unfunny stereotypes. It's kinda sad that I'm praising Family Guy for not making jokes like that, but that's where we are.
American Dad made fun of Tucson first. And theirs was better.
"I want you to think long and hard about this."
I know I'm preaching to the choir, but this show is just so abhorrently gross. The animated herpes were just too disgusting to look at. Plus that cutaway that ended with Peter having his throat slit was also quite unnerving. I really hate it when this show tries to pass off disgusting images as funny. The only shows…
This episode was just so, weird. The main plot was really dumb for me. It wasn't particularly funny and was far too predictable. The subplot with Roger/Klaus was considerably better, but there just wasn't enough of it. Not the worst episode of the season ("Kung Pao Turkey" anyone?), but it wasn't the American Dad I…
Eh, I'd say that American Dad has a better continuity than Family Guy. But either way they both have better continuity than our good friend The Simpsons. Remember "The '90's Show"? Yeesh.
As far as Family Guy goes, this was okay. The main plot was pretty boring and uninspired though. I mean, I guess I'd rather watch an episode about Peter smoking a lot and realizing it's not good for him than sitting around trying to marry his son, but it was still rather bland. I did like the Chris/Stewie subplot…
This episode was an improvement over last weeks for me. The stewardess episode just seemed so flighty and unfocused for me, while this one seemed a bit more grounded. I wish that they did a bit more with the Roger-Hayley subplot though, but the main plot was superb.
Maybe it's just me, but everytime I see/hear Teddy, he reminds me so much of Bill from KOTH. They're just so similar in so many ways, but Teddy also had attributes that makes him his own character. Does anybody else see this comparison or is it just silly old me?
I missed one of the better episodes of season 25 it seems. Dang. Oh well. What I'm really looking forward to is that The Simpsons-Futurama crossover. That should be epic. Does anyone know when it's supposed to air?
Yeah I think it would be cool for Family Guy to try a Brian and Stewie spin-off, but it would probably be hard to have it actually make sense (Brian and Stewie can't really move away or anything) and we all know how the other Family Guy spin-off turned out. Which is disappointing, since The Cleveland Show in its final…
B-
I just realized Hayley is nowhere to be seen this episode. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like Hayley has been really downgraded the past couple of seasons. I wish they'd use her a bit more, but I guess I'd rather have American Dad not use its daughter character than abuse it (I'm looking right at you, Family Guy).
But I thought he moved to Community. Or am I just making that up? I probably am.
That's where I got confused. I thought Callaghan was going to be an executive producer and/or showrunner on a permanent basis during the run on TBS. Interesting.
Who knows? Futurama was still pretty good during its run on Comedy Central. Maybe it will be pleasantly surprising.
Anybody else notice that Steve Callaghan from Family Guy has officially joined the executive producer list on the opening credits? Is this the beginning of the end?
