@avclub-e2a6a1ace352668000aed191a817d143:disqus Yes, there's a huge amount of noise in current events, especially politics. It's a politician's bread and butter to stir things up, cause fear, uncertainty, suspicion and even disgust/hate of the opposition, in order to ensure enough fervor in voters to win an election.

I can't swear to it, but I thought Mac was initially set up as a Chritiane Amanpour type, a field producer dealing mostly with international trouble spots. Her current position forces so many compromises she may never have had to face before.

Yeah, Sanford's stuff was awesome. What a lovesick puppy. Actually made him more sympathetic, even though he remained a hypocritical cheating bastard.

Hubris brought 'em low. Spitzer is currently buried in Olbermann's old slot at Current TV. Don't think he'll get out of the basement that way. Most people don't even know the channel exists.

Yes, history is a roiling, turbulent mass of events. But sometimes you just know the importance of something you witness or experience. The context of previous history tells you, your training in a particular subject can provide good instincts, and so on.

I haven't been following these reviews as closely as I should, maybe, but what's the Skitter Clegane stuff? Game of Thrones reference, something I missed?

Supposedly some Secret Service agents corroborated the rumors after JFK's death about how he used the secretary pool. Sometimes two of them would run out of his room or office in various states of undress after he was done with them. JFK woulda considered Clinton an amateur.

None of them are as nearly neurotic as the women that have popped up on Louie recently, yet that show doesn't get anywhere near the level of vitriol for supposed misogyny.

I don't claim to understand the audience dynamic, but I agree that making the main character a Republican was a simple tactic/trick to draw in an audience that would not have watched a Keith Olbermann stand-in bashing the Tea partiers or Breibart's questionable "journalism."

Yes, the extremely loose usage of "god's will" by many christians usually just means it's their own will, what they want to do expanded in a grandiose way.
