100% I mean her dad literally bought part of Big Machine to get her a record deal. If the deal was shit even after all that, then someone other than the record label fucked up big time. She has and always will be fine. When you look up “safe” in the dictionary you’ll see a picture of Taylor Swift.

If they had really recorded her illegally, she 100% would have sued them.

Like when Kim Kardashian orchestrated an illegally recorded snippet of a phone call to be leaked and then Scooter got his two clients together to bully me online about it. Or when his client, Kanye West, organized a revenge porn music video which strips my body naked.”

I feel the exact same way. I don’t know that I fully trust any record label, but I definitely don’t fully trust Taylor due to her past actions and the way she portrays herself. Scooter’s wife made a post on Instagram that I agreed with on multiple points. She basically told her that Scooter can’t control other adults

Ah yes, the fragile flower of white womanhood needs to be protected. I will never forgive her for using the racism of America in the Kanye situation. She knew that as a white blue eyed blonde she would be believed over a black man with a negative reputation.

It was written by Scooter, right?

Seems suspiciously well put. Guess the Bible has made him more literate.

Yes, yes, I agree that “Taylor Swift is just invoking feminism here to advance her own interests” is very boring and cliched and often advanced in bad faith; I’m so aware of it I almost didn’t say anything and regret doing so!

Should she definitely have ownership of her music.... but.... I don’t know why she needs to play the victim again to Kanye when she was the one to throw him under the bus. She forced his hand with that recording.

I’m starting to get the impression that EVERYONE named Scooter is evil. Now, I’ll never look at the Muppet the same way again.

Given her earnings, cash, and cash flow she would have very little trouble getting a loan to finance the purchase.

My immediate suspicion is that she's publicly shaming him into selling her her masters.

This is probably a case of "what aboutism," but what about all the Universal artists who had their masters destroyed in a fire in 2008 and it is only coming to light now? I feel for Taylor, but a lot of musicians' masters are gone forever.

I assumed the other was Scott Borchetta, who will continue to run Big Machine and who is part of the reason Swift didn’t want to re-sign with them.

I recall there also being something about Swift getting caught on tape giving approval for it.

Oh my god, Kanye is a Scooter Braun joint?! That makes so much sense.

I’m also annoyed that she described herself as a victim of Kim and Kanye. The recording may have been illegally distributed, but it did show the truth: Taylor consented to the lyrics in Kanye's song. She's not denying that

Revenge porn is a prosecutable offense but Kanye’s Famous video isn’t revenge porn. All of the bodies in that video are synthetic (I believe they were wax?) approximations of the people they were meant to represent.

So I decided to read up on this because honestly I don’t trust Taylor Swift. In my eyes she’s the paragon of manipulative feminism. She’s only a supporter when it benefits her and her outing by KimK just confirmed to me what I was suspicious about all along.

I think it depends on jurisdictions and it is not yet illegal in a great number of places. And may depend on definitions, im thinking what naked image there is of Taylor was completely manufactured, she doesn’t strike me as the type to send nudes to a boyfriend, so depending on definition of revenge porn it may not
