Mazda lost some of my family as customers with the awful response to the gen1 3 rust issue. Every last one of them ruseted on the corner panels, but Mazda head office would refuse to warranty anything unless it got to a level where full holes were present.

In my area Subaru’s live off middle class people stepping up from “peasant” level Honda/Toyota vehciles that all their neighbors drives...... not realizing that Honda/Toyotas often are the same pricing, options, quality, etc.
