In parts of Maryland, the tubes are still used at liquor stores to ring a bell alerting the cashier that there is someone in the drive thru lane.

No. I personally think Lexus interiors are terrible. Like they hired three different designers and didn’t let them work together before slamming the final product together. And the analog clock is absolutely out of place in an otherwise very modern, bordering on futuristic, interior.
I’m biased too, but I’ll say the E90 335i. My mom is about to replace her 08 335i sedan, manual with sport package. She bought it new and it just went over 60k miles. I want to buy it from her and the KBB and NADA are around $9-10k. I randomly checked the forums and auto trader and found people selling similar models…
This will be a competitor to the upcoming X3M and the AMG GLC. The ones you mentioned are much bigger and much more expensive. Jag just happened to give their small SUV wayyy more power than anyone else.
It’s not false confidence, it’s tactile feedback because there are clicks at each gear. When I move from D to P, there are 3 detents along the way, one for N, R, then P. If the shifter stops at N, it’s only one.
Possibly. It is pretty jarring when it stops after one click instead of moving 3 clicks. Like you expect the shifter to move 3-4 inches and it only moves one.
But then when you open the door, the car DINGs at you and the dash says “vehicle not in park”. So if you don’t pay attention to that, or the gear indicators on…
The accident could have been avoided by him looking at the shifter or the dash to make sure his Jeep was in park before getting out. Or he could have heeded the *ding* and the dash warning that says “vehicle is not in park” when he opened the door.
Sure, it’s not an engineering control, but some people do occasionally…
100%. My Jeep is full of chrome on the inside that always reflects the sun straight into my eyes, no matter where it is in the sky. And the outside (Summit) is covered in chrome because apparently Jeep thinks chrome means “luxury”. I absolutely blame the shitheads that put chrome trim on everything on their car that…
The adaptive cruise control system in my Jeep freaks the fuck out and slams on the brakes when a car turns in front of me, even when I’m 100% sure I won’t hit the car at that current speed. I’d expect a super advanced autonomous car with LIDAR to at least release the throttle pedal when it senses what might be a human…
No, you don’t. The shift happens as fast as you can move the shifter. You always have to go through N and R to get to P, it’s meant to mimic every mechanical console shifter made in the past 30 years. I’d argue that pushing a button for Park like in a BMW is more unnatural.
I’ve had my ‘14 GC for 3 years now. Never needed the video or little card on the shifter to show me how the thing works. I figured it out with no problems as did my wife. Both of my parents, who are pretty technologically challenged, didn’t have any issues using the shifter for multiple days without my help. I…
I don’t think this is the case. You can feel the detents in the shifter when it moves, so going from drive to park, you can feel bumps at N and R, then a hard stop at P. Once in a blue moon, my Jeep’s shifter will only let me go one notch at a time, meaning when I try to put it in park from drive, it only moves to…
How do these idiots not get pulled over every 5 minutes?
There is a guy that sometimes posts on here who is a member of that exclusive club. A couple of his/her cars are in those pics...
Yeah, but we didn’t know that until after we ate there 2-3 times on our trip. And the next best ramen we found happened to be in a train station. The spicy ground pork just makes ramen so much better than the bland slices. It was extremely hard to find that type, but we always ate it when we found it.
So glad my wife’s family told us about those places. I had so many onigiri in the 2 weeks we were in Japan. Plus the egg salad sandwiches were as good as the ones my mom makes.
BTW, you mentioned ‘secret ramen joint in a back alley’. I just had to shout out to Ippudo Ramen in Roppongi, Tokyo. Best ramen we’ve had in…
We used to make those Jatos back in the day. I also refurb’d a bunch of 50's era Jatos for the Blue Angels’ Fat Albert when I first started working.
Not giving a shit about what happens on Twitter is such an important key to making my own life decisions.
My workplace is in an area with very few restaurants, so we don’t have a huge choice of where to eat. However, there is a Wendy’s, McD’s, and BK in the area. My coworkers favored Wendy’s, so I started going to…
I just looked through like 10 articles about new cars with 100+ pictures and finally BMW is the only one to give us a full side view of their vehicle. Why is it so damn hard to stop being artsy for 2 seconds with your camera and take a full on side shot so we can see the side profile of the car?
So honestly, is this the decline of the modeling industry? Car shows, car races, and bike races are now talking about giving up the ‘girls’ that hang around and look pretty. That’s basically what all models are, people that look pretty and get paid for it, right? So we should start getting rid of all attractive people…
