I HIGHLY doubt McLaren is going to build a successor to the F1 as a grand touring car. Seems like they already did this with the P1 anyway. The F1 was built to be the ultimate road car in terms of handling and speed, not to leisurely cruise through the countryside on the way to the Hamptons.

I only drove it on the beach for one week every year. It was built for the rocks, where you need the visibility. You can’t see most of the body damage due to the shadows and missing doors haha.

The front doors of a full-power XJ weigh probably 80 lbs a piece, so it was quite a task moving them around. LOL I came here to post that exact picture. That’s my XJ in the outer banks, NC. Driving on the road without doors was amazing, like a convertible but better, and got a lot of funny looks. Wheeling with no doors offers a perfect view of where your driver’s side tires are on the rocks.
