Release the Hellcat Jeep already, sheesh...
Yeah, that does seem like a bit of a design issue... But then again, all they have to do is get ahold of the car and download the data instead of it being transmitted wirelessly. Either the car will go to Tesla to be fixed, or it will be put in a junkyard to hide the evidence while this guy claims the car crashed…
Why haven’t I heard of this before? So why did all that Toyota unintended acceleration BS have any clout if they could just download the data?
Right?! Does Tesla not tell their consumers that they can wirelessly see everything you do in the car at all times?
You sure have an appropriate name. I would not buy a car with that box in it, just like I wouldn't put a device on my car that tells my insurance company how I drive. I don't need to add to the list of people telling me I shouldn't be driving over the insanely low state-mandated speed limit.
Remember the couple that thought their RV's normal cruise control meant it would drive itself? So they went to the back to sleep or whatever and crashed the shit out of it.
I don’t understand the statement by Mobileye. My Jeep has adaptive cruise control and crash mitigation. When using ACC and someone pulls a left turn across my path within 100 yards, the car slams on the brakes. I can even predict when it’s going to happen, so I’ll disable the ACC before it hits the brakes so I don't…
I’m going to have to agree that the truck driver needs to be partially or fully at fault here. Clearly, he made an unsafe turn if the Tesla drove right under the middle of his truck because the car didn’t slow down. But I guess saying the guy was watching a movie in the car absolves him from all responsibility.
I fully support this take. I own a 2014 GC and yes, sometimes the shifter stops at neutral when I'm trying to put it in park, but I can absolutely feel it every time it happens. It's jarring because the shifter only moves forward about half an inch instead of the 2 inches or so it's supposed to go. It makes me look…
“Nobody knows how this crash occurred..." False. I bet the driver knows exactly how it occurred, plus his passenger and the dude driving behind them.
Porsche sure makes a nice looking A7.
You can absolutely feel what gear you are in. The shifter has detents just like any mechanical auto shifter. I'm in Park, 3 clicks back and I'm in drive. Two clicks forward and I'm in reverse. Sometimes the transmission doesn't cooperate and only goes one click forward from drive even when you try to push it all the…
BTW, I've had my 2014 GC for over a year. Yes, I've had the transmission go into neutral when I tried to go into park, but I could feel that it only went forward one click, so I knew to look down and make sure I put it in park before getting out.
Again, I’d argue that the customer made the mistake buying a car that they did not fully understand how to operate. There are a few dozen cases of injury out of hundreds of thousands of Jeeps sold. The transmission didn't malfunction, it was not used correctly. Maybe these people should have spent a few more minutes…
Best color on the Spyder, hands down.
Sounds like you had no problems with the gearing? Chris Harris made it sound like the gears in the GT4 and Spyder weren't well suited for the track or even normal driving. I want this car so bad and will never be able to afford it. Both Boxster Spyder models look incredible.
*sigh* So not paying full attention when operating a motor vehicle means the manufacturer should have engineered even more devices to prevent you from injuring or killing yourself?
The shifter and dash both have a gear indicator. The shifter has detents so you can feel what gears you are shifting through, just like a normal mechanical shifter. If it only shifted into neutral, you would have moved it forward one detent. It takes 3 detents to get it in Park. Not paying well enough attention when…
I'm baffled that so many people bought a car with a shifter that they apparently have no idea how to use. Yes, the shifter self centers, but it has detents in it for every gear like every other shifter in every other Grand Cherokee. I've had the shifter only go into neutral instead of park a few times, but you can…
How did you know the guy’s name? Why would we have a public list of gun owners? So people like you could harass them for owning said gun?
