Column shifter for life
Column shifter for life
What’s stupid about a pedal-activated e-brake or a column shifter? They get the job done, and it’s not like you need to be able to access them while driving so might as well just get them out of the way.
Seriously, what is the deal with center consoles. They must be the most inefficient use of space in any modern car. There's nothing in em, yet they're massive. It doesn't need to be this way!
I like how when companies like Toyota make bland ass cars and sell tons of them, you complain. Then when someone like Cadillac gives us exactly what you’ve been asking for (insane power, good chassis, RWD, reliable, and practical sedans), you turn around and tell them to make bland-mobiles.
“And even if you think Cadillac’s push into all-electric-everything is a mistake”
These are halo cars. Nobody needs a halo car. The Corvette is a halo car. Chevrolet is still Chevrolet without the Corvette. But they are aspirational vehicles and good for marketing.
“...and I don’t think they’re buying it because of the V cars sitting on the other side of the showroom floor.”
I think the idea that having sedans doesn’t help SUV sales is flawed. My dad loved sedans and the only way he moved over to SUVs was going in to buy a sedan and a salesman asking him to try the SUV. He tried it and liked it and hasn’t bought a sedan since. If the dealer didn’t have sedans he wouldn’t have walked in…

This may be the worst article I have ever read. Not on Jalopnik, because Torch or Tracy wouldn’t let this word filth fill a column they wrote.
Raph’s only bitching because he wants everyone to drive a Honda Fit 2 times a year and bicycle the rest
“Let me live, Torch.”
I thought that blue one in the picture was matte until I looked closer. Could they have chosen a less flattering lighting setup for the photo op? It looks terrible.
This is the right take.
Star for giving the finger to recalcitrant part...me every time I touch my cars
Even when flogged by GM overlords, Saab stuck to their driving guns far harder than you might expect. The Night Panel display, the enormous buttons for lights, Saab took piloting a car very seriously.
It’s a nice price because it’s a working car under $5000 with no glaring issues that prevent it from being a useful, reliable automobile.
2nd: When all of our electronics and high tech gadgets are made in China, is it any surprise that there are so many Chinese EV makers? Name me one semi-conductor factory here in the US, one that mass produces not prototypes.
This device gives the song “Tainted Love” a new meaning.
