The kids have been hustlin’ their dad for milk money for a lotta years, that’s all.

To be fair, if the only time you ever hear the price of a beverage is at a major professional sports event, $20 for a gallon of milk is about right.

Someone’s been buying their milk from Halliburton.

I think “apartheid” is a little harsh. At the end of the day it’s their club and they are free to let in and not let in who they choose.

I think the reason they’ve gone with this design is that it makes becoming a gig worker charging the scooters more attractive. People aren’t going to go and pick these up to charge for $3/ea if they can only fit a couple in their car at a time, although swappable batteries would alleviate that problem. Probably

Good news! I have a blanket policy of ungreying anyone who replies to me, agree with me or not, so long as they didn’t post anything outright obscene or truly malicious.

Maybe I’m wrong! BMW apparently thinks I’m wrong, because they just releases a $900 scooter.

My vote is 3rd gen Tl Type S. 2007-2008.

I can never not think about crying with running mascara when I see the 4runner..

Well one step further...keep it in a boring savings account until the baby is born. God forbid there would be any complications, but you never know.

No, it is not. They are an absolute bitch to work on, the timing belt has to be replaced every 30,000 miles, and it would be ridiculously hard to get a child seat in it. Please try again.

Came here for this. To the day I die I will hold that the GTI is the best all around car you can buy. I only sold mine to get an S2000 because I’m young and single and want to own one while it doesn’t have to be just my weekend car.

$6K, LS6 V8, RWD, manual, 4 door rocket with plenty of room for a car seat and hockey bag, a 2005 CTS-V:

Yeah. That was my first though. “You have a first baby on the way, and you’re going to blow 8 grand on a car you don’t need?”

That $8,000 will turn in to around $22,000 by the time they reach college age (assuming Vanguard’s estimated 6% return on a college 529 plan).

Hell, even if they’re on top of retirement and

And hovering around the same price, a later generation 9-3 Aero sedan that makes close to S60 R numbers (which are hovering around $7k near me, if you can find them).

Well, you already own a VW, so 8K gets you a nice MK6 GTI all day long. It is THE perfect all around car, and can do everything for you all day long. Should be decently reliable and easy to work on. Also, nothing else responds better to mods than VAG cars.

With a baby coming, go with a 4 door variant. Yeah, he can fit a baby seat in a 2 door (I know, I have two shoved in the back), but the dude’s back will give out in no time (also from experience).

Guys, just stop the car and enjoy each other’s company for the time you have left. You’re not going to get far enough away from that city to escape the counterstrike.
