I use "import folders" in the Evernote desktop app on my home PC (a media center). It automatically scans a selected local folder for new files (in this case, the Photo Steam folder) and records each as a new note. It can be set to delete or keep the local file. I choose delete because I do the manual offload for

That's demonstrably false. Not only does the Apple support page not specify a time limit, but I still have Christmas photos in my Photo Stream. Regardless, if there were such a limit, it would not affect my system as they are sync'd to Evernote immediately.

I use an import folder in Evernote to grab all the Photo Stream photos that sync to my PC. Each photo is added as a separate note to a notebook I cleverly named "Photo Stream".

There is no monthly limit on Photo Stream. The only limit on my system is in Evernote with its monthly upload limit, which, again, can be expanded as needed. I've only had a problem with this once after a vacation in which we took many photos. Even then I only needed to buy 1GB to clear up most of the backlog and let

Work PC I use Texter because A) it's portable and works without needing to be installed and B) I have to tell a lot of people the same thing so it's easier to use standard texts. Personal Tablet PC I use ritePen for text expansion, app launching, and other shortcuts.

I mostly gave up on manually organizing photos. Instead I use Photo Stream to sync photos to my home PC and then auto-upload to Evernote. Photos are searchable by time, location, and any text that might be in the photo (signs, etc.). I tag what I want and can attach any edited photos to the same note as the original.

I'm all for saving a few bucks, but this not only is a blatant knock-off of the Nifty MiniDrive (The Amazon description points this out: "The Nifty MiniDrive Alternative.") but it appears to use a piece of folded-over tape to remove the card from the Macbook. Looks cheap and, as the flap sticks out, means it's not

I'm ahead of the curve.

I scanned my passports to my Windows tablet when I visited Japan. In 2005.

Two years, but I've started an alternating upgrade cycle with my wife. Starting next year, we will get one new iPhone every year, which I will use, and she gets the old one (balanced by the fact she primarily uses her iPad, while I don't have one). Will cut costs further by buying refurbs.

Terribly unnecessary project. Retractable USB extension cables offer comparable protection and are readily available for under $7. Granted, retractables are usually a tad longer than this DIY adapter, but they also extend.

Wireless charging as it currently exists is useful if your device is used to run a battery-draining constant task and you frequently pick it up from your desk. For example, I play music all-day over Bluetooth and take my iPhone with me whenever I leave my desk (lunch, restroom, meetings, etc.). I found it convenient

Pretty much. The NSA and others got grilled about why they did not put together the pieces ahead of 9/11. We demanded they do a better job, and now they are. We don't like how they're doing it, but what's the alternative? Not gather any intelligence? Only target specific groups, races and/or ideologies? Gathering all

Surprised anyone was appalled. We demanded increased intelligence gathering after 9/11 and now we're supposed to be outraged at how much intelligence is being gathered? It's like we're the clients described in Clients from Hell.

Here's the real question: this guy is the son of the biggest movie star, he himself has made more money being in movies than I will ever make in my entire life, and this is the Iron Man costume he buys? Granted, it looks really good for a comfortable, off-the-rack costume but FFS, the guy can afford custom.

I started flossing regularly by developing it into a bad habit. I keep a bag of disposable flosspicks in my drawer at work and use one periodically through the day, kind of like chewing on a pen or toothpick. Works really well. My dental hygienist noticed improvement in the first year, and my gums are now completely

Do beans belong in chili? Would you have remembered the chili-eating scene in Blazing Saddles without them? Probably not.

Nice pic and pick on the patched game option. I bought Dungeon Keeper 2 (pic) from Good Old Games (pick) and it runs better on my Windows 7 PC than my copy of DK2 on CD ran on my Windows XP PC (which is not saying much, but still).

Better option: switch to Waze. Not only does it have a nighttime mode but it can be set to switch automatically. That's in addition to being a superior turn-by-turn navigation app.

Interesting. Looking it up, it appears farm grade has looser restrictions on heavy metal content and/or contains some clay. I don't think either would be problematic for outdoor use, but we used it around the kitchen, so definitely wanted food grade.
