I don't see how this can be Steve's mistake when it was the board that refused to let him be CEO. The big question is, would he have done anything differently if he had not left? Would NeXT have been an Apple project? Would he have still bought Pixar either on his own or for Apple? I suspect Steve would have done

Would love if they included Sinestro as their space police captain who's always on their case to get the job done (even if they have to cut a few corners to do it).

"If we were given Casio's Prizm calculators in math class, perhaps I wouldn't have failed so dismally." — Perhaps? You're selling yourself short on this. Be positive! Equipped with this bad boy, I'm positive, absolutely certain, you would have failed in a far less dismal, borderline spectacular way. Glass half full!

@TH3M4PPL3S_: That's what I thought too, but if you click through, you'll see it works with tiny USB drives without affecting mouse control.

Won't work with iPods and iPhones unless the hub is connected to a computer and the device is recognized.

I'm inclined to agree with the critics against pre-digitizing your insurance info. Takes less effort to snapshot insurance info on the spot.

@ArleenCabango: Pfft. She controlled a computer through a graphical user interface. I guess that makes all Windows users hackers.

@jsim: You don't know what PogoPlug does, do you? It turns any USB drive into a web-accessible network drive. Its only limit is the size of your drives (up to 4 drives on the current model).

Rice cookers are overrated. Pot cooking is simple. Use the right water-to-rice ratio (depends on the type of rice so refer to the suggestion on the bag), set the burner between medium and high (depending on how quickly you need it), switch to low once it gets bubbling to the lid, turn off when the bubbles stop, let it

Buy a bag of sugar then buy a bottle of high-fructose corn syrup then tell me it's not worse. No, seriously, try it. You might be surprised at how impossible it is.

That scene from Jurassic Park does not belong on this list. Nedry's security was removed at that point, which was why they shut down the system (which released the velociraptors). It was a goofy computer operating scene, not a hacking one.

I would disagree with you on the "almost" part, except that Costco sells some gift cards below face value, making them worthwhile purchases. I do this for myself with iTunes gift cards since it's easy to drain the card completely and allows me to set a budget on app and media purchases. Otherwise, cash is better.

@mrsilver: That's a good "life before Twitter" story to tell your grandkids. :)

@NoneMorePaul: It's actually worse than that. Trying to charge two iPhones (my new one and old one) from it causes both to fail because the amperage is shared between the two ports. It's good for one smartphone and a low-powered accessory, like a headset, but don't expect it to handle two smartphones.

@Mikestan: I don't see how that supports your argument that young folks don't pay for stuff.

@Mikestan: Yeah, young folks don't pay for content. That's why Justin Bieber and the Jonas Brothers are living on the street.

Showing the QR code is convenient if you're viewing on a PC, but I believe a standard hyperlink would be helpful for folks reading this on an Android device.

@oskiee: I believe Air Sharing is nearly identical, except part about the SD card. Available in free and pro versions.

@colorebel: It's enabled on a per-app basis, so any developer can build video-out into their app.
