Gala is my standard because they’re reliable, familiar and always available. My mom was a huge fan of jonathans but i haven’t seen them in my current store. Granny smith but only if you like really tart stuff. I used to get other varieties at a better store, including pink lady and honeycrisp, but it’s been a while.
