Since the L/44 in the Abrams was never replaced with the L/55 I’d say the Abrams is outgunned by the Leopard 2

I think initially some were loaned by Germany to the army because the Leopard 1 didn’t have proper AC units for Afghanistan. I think we purchased them afterwards, but there was a bit of a loan initially.

Plenty. They were in action, despite chronic fuel shortages.

Man. You really DO NOT KNOW your history. Or maybe just lying. I cannot tell on here.

No man, wrong. Heavy tanks are obsolete since the 60s. They have the same firepower and armor as what we now call MBTs, but they sacrifice mobility and speed. MBTs don’t fit that description, it is an obsolete term.

in everyones opinion..even on the american tank operators opinion.. german tanks were the best at the time. By the end of the war the russian tanks were pretty close if not better then the german tanks.

There are US tankers from WWII that will disagree with you.

What about ye ol Tiger 1 & 2?

Umm are you ignorant? Or is all that “‘Murrica!!” shouting clouding your glasses again? The Germans had far superior tanks than the Allies in WW2 but couldn’t build them in big enough numbers to matter. The US just basically threw as many tanks as possible at them until they overran them. It was a meat grinder and

And man are they a dream to drive!

Germany has had the superior tank in the world since at least WW2. The Tiger and Panzer were far superior to their contemporaries. We only beat them because we had far more. The Leopard built in the ‘60s was a far more mobile platform than any of it’s contemporaries and, with the MEXAS armour kit, is still a contender

It was a joke. That’s the (ok, “a”) problem with the Internet— tone cannot be accounted for.

We have them also.

A few big cats (namely the Panther and Tiger) would like a word.

Oh god, who let Germany build a superior tank again?

Why the US let’s it’s president fly around in something as vulnerable as Marine One I will never understand.

Yes, but the physical vulnerability of Marine One that is used in “safe” airspace is not exactly robust. If their is one helicopter that can take a hit from a MANPAD it would be the HIND. Now of course that is no guarantee of survival as Afghanistan proved in the 80s, but it is way better than something like a UH-60

Sounds legit.

No Tyler the reason is obvious. The Mi 24 and all of it’s derivatives can be heavily armoured and is a great deal faster. Note the wings/stubs. They offload the main rotor during flight and increase the top speed. The MI8 while a great helicopter is much more vulnerable to ground fire and missile attack. Plus with its

A VIP version of the coolest helicopter in the world? Am I the only one who thinks this is awesome? When I get rich, I will have one that will fly me to and from my luxed out C-130.
