Hey remember how I said yesterday that I was pretty sure that there were serious corners being cut in Uber’s self-driving program, the discovery of which could drive Uber out of business, which is why they settled with that woman’s family so quickly? And how the settlement must have been for a truly monumental amount

The company is viable but that stock price is still ludicrous. It is a $150 stock at best right now which is what most shorters know but the stupidity of investors is knows no bounds.

The reason they’re only converting 30% of reservations to sales is because they only offer the $50k+ version right now. I’m sure a lot of people are waiting for the $35k version they were promised 2 years ago.

I’d say it might not even take that long.

“People do still want to buy Tesla cars, and the backlog for a Model 3 remains as big as ever, but at the same time demand doesn’t appear to be quite as huge as CEO Elon Musk initially promised. The Wall Street Journal reports that analysts insist fewer than 30 percent of the customers invited to take delivery of the

VW/porsche/audi have their own electric tech going, they dont need Tesla

Tesla’s biggest asset has, for a while, been hype. That’s why a single fatal accident is even mentioned in an article like this. no one wants to be driving a 20 year old economy car

Agreed that its not smart, or safe, but my point is that is the kind of thing autonomous cars MUST account for, otherwise they are no better than humans. People jaywalk. Kids run out, etc. If the computer can’t react any better than a person, then the entire premise is moot.

Can you share the video footage you have with the rest of us? How do you know this lady wasn’t tying her shoe in that lane for 40 seconds and the sensors never saw her? But in no way it was the autonomous vehicles fault correct?

Brakes? Swerving is a thing. And the car has infrared vision and lasers, so it should, at least in theory, have been able to detect the pedestrian.

I really hated those in spy hunter

Or anyone with a pulse.
