Meaning overpriced and ready to be replaced next year?

Because what you want is even less weight over the rear wheels of a pickup...

It’s like a co-worker who has a dragster and was bragging about his new seat that was 3kg lighter- the guy was well over 150kg and could probably lose 3 by skipping the third helpings at lunch

Sadly most drivers today haven’t the slightest idea what “yield” means...

Except it’s a yield sign, which means they must yield to the traffic on the highway.

It’s a yield....not a merge.

Yielding?

I almost feel bad about how much I enjoyed that.

That feels good on my sense of justice.

Current Chicago resident here. I was out of town over the new year and received 6 tickets (6 days in a row) for not having an up to date city sticker (or maybe registration sticker, I can’t recall offhand). I had ordered it in November and they somehow messed up my address and it didn’t arrive before I went out of

Is it me, or does the underlying article completely ignore the role played by the City’s terrible, horrible, no good, underhanded, stupid, corrupt, and criminal decision to privatize the City’s parking meters and some garages? (I’m not even sure the city gets some or all of the revenue for parking tickets). People

Chicago requires Chicago city stickers for all vehicles REGISTERED with Chicago address. Not parking on public spot doesn’t save you

Most of these places give a no win scenario: shitty parking forces people to park wherever almost like its vicious cycle on purpose. The cities aren’t going to do anything to help the situation because its all a cash grab for them to the determent of their own citizens.

I should have known better than to expect a modicum of compassion from the Jalpnik commentariat. It’s never the system’s fault (unless it’s speed limits - then it’s all about how the limits are ridiculous, not that drivers shoud slow down).

Thanks to our wonderful former Mayor Daley selling our parking to a private firm for 75 years. Parking meters are everywhere in neighborhoods and rates are atrocious. 2 unpaid tickets and then they boot your car on the third infraction. Somehow that 1.2 billion dollars that was paid, ended up missing. Of course it

Chicago is potentially corrupt and preys on lower income residents?!??!

Everyone’s points are valid below. But I hated Livingin Chicago so much I moved to Skokie and I almost never need to go into Chicago for almost any reason other then seeing my parents.

Chicago’s parking program was privatized a few years ago; they sold the 36,000 parking spaces to a Morgan-Stanley led private consortium for $1billion. Thos investors expect a return on their investment. Just wait until roads are privatized.

Chicago city management is a joke. My Brother in law works there and at the end of every fiscal year, he has to buy hundreds of thousands of dollars of computer equipment that he doesn’t need because if he doesn’t use all his budget, the money not spent gets taken out of next years budget.

Cue the asshole comments in favor of these ticketing practices in 3..2..1
