Yes dumb ass, I was. You are missing one key piece of the equation, “reclaim some of your losses”. I should of also put in a reasonable amount of time.

except it won’t....houses and cars are not equal. You can easily repossess a car, and reclaim some of your losses. Not so much with a house.
Your reply make me want to punch you in the face! No....You Assume too MUCH!
Way to rewrite history buddy. Smartphones as we know it didn’t really exist before 2005. Sure, you had a Kyocera Palm Pilot with a integrated phone but that was really just a palm pilot. Blackberry and other makers had very little pre 2005.
I mean, this list just means that Toyota and Honda buyers tend to keep their cars longer than most consumers. They apparently don’t get sick of the beige. There are plenty of domestic cars that last 15 years or greater, they just change hands.
Because the Boomers who buy Toyota and Honda treat their cars like appliances. I bet they still have the same washer and dryer from the early 90's too. I would also guess they subscribe to Consumer Reports. If it ain’t broke, they aren’t buy a new one.
Having driven a few areas with 75mph limits on the west side of Michigan, I have a few thoughts.
Active lifestyle in the US for 98% of the population: Driving to work every weekday morning while eat McDonald’s or Dunkin donuts. If person has kids, picking them up for whatever event they have after school while feed them fast food. If no kids, then getting a couple beers after work with coworkers. Followed by,…
5th: Auto shows as we know it are pretty much on life support. Don’t be surprised when they all fold or change significantly. What you are going to have are automotive festival type events, with much less overhead for manufactures. Think Goodwood. Detroit will be good example of this over the summer.

Just not as reliable or easy to maintain as a Crown Vic!
Actually, it is good. You basically can do everything from screen, buttons or voice. Now the Sony sounds system, is a about a half/quarter step up from the base unit.

Toledo is about 80% grimy blue collar area. I don’t say that in a negative way at all. There is just a rough edge to it. I grew up in the area and graduate from UT. It has a great zoo and art museum. If you go, visit Tony Packos.
Growing up just 20 minutes north of Toledo, I can remember there being an AMC on that old plant. I will be interested in where they put it. The old plant doesn’t exist anymore and the new plant, not very far away, isn’t in the best area. It would be cool to take a plant tour (which they don’t do for the public) and…
Pretty sure the Ford F150 BEV will be out in 2021. My prediction is it will beat the Tesla truckster triangle to the market.
See lawsuit fallout with DCT transmissions in Focus and Fiesta. That’s all you need to know that they weren’t profitable. Why did they go with the DCT, because it was cheaper than the regular 6 speed auto. It’s been well documented that previous generation Focus was a loss leader. Mullay wanted something profitable.…
Except has less power and worse FE. If you just want to go on price with a shiny interior, then fine.
1st: Way too much hyperbole! So almost 60% decided to abandon cars. Ok, if the past 20 year trend is to continue then I am going to assume that car market is going to continue to shrink. Great in the short term but I wouldn’t bank on anything more than a short term victory.
