Work is a stretch, but they’re becoming pretty mainstream male attire at my gym and for athleisure in my neighborhood.  I’m glad guys have caught on!

My parents got periodontal disease when I was a kid from not flossing, then they had to go to a dentist who SCRAPED THEIR ROOTS so their teeth didn’t eventually fall out. They would come home from those appointments so miserable they were like ghosts of poor dental hygiene future. “Floss so you don’t end up like usssss

I always thought that when I started dating “the right” guy, my “natural” desire to have kids would suddenly present itself out of its heretofore totally dormant state. Then I dated a couple good guys who wanted kids and found myself with a strong desire to run in the opposite direction. I realized it wasn’t the

I have a pretty hardcore vegan friend and to her credit, she and her husband admit that perfection is impossible. Unless you are going to cook absolutely every piece of food you eat or research every single ingredient in everything (which no one has time for) then you’re going to have “imperfect” moments. Wine seems

“Ding-dong” is one of my favorite pejoratives. It’s so silly and belittling yet very fun to say.

She was fantastic!

I am working on projects with the Dept. of Education and the National PTA and they are both working really, really hard to dispel myths about community colleges and to push technical certifications and two year programs.  There are a lot of great programs and success stories out there and it’s heartening to see.

If these kids didn’t have the grades or the activities to get into these schools legitimately, what are the chances that all of them had the work ethic and smarts to stay there without a little help? I think there are going to be waves to this scandal and the next will be how these kids managed to stay in these

I’m so bummed her DC shows sold out so fast. I looked on Stubhub the other day and tickets that were $30 are now between $200-300.  I still may pony up to go see her...I love her music.

My Grandma was born in 1904 and lived to be 102. She definitely met people who had been slaves.

Comer blew my everlovin’ mind in that show.  She’s spectacular.

What you gotta get is a Swizzler. They are spiral cut hot dogs and they are DELICIOUS. All the cut edges get crispy when griddled. My fav is the Leonardo Dog Vinci - fresh mozz, tomatoes, house pesto, balsamic glaze. https://www.swizzlerfoods.com/

My co-worker’s sister used to do these types of courier runs. Apparently you’re well compensated and get free flights places but you have to be able to go at a moment’s notice. Apparently they’re awesome gigs if you’re retired or underemployed and just want to travel to random spots for free.

We had to watch a sexual harassment training video at work about 15 years ago or so. Keep in mind, we’re a really small company, most of us are pretty good friends and we’re video producers...so we’re going to judge the hell out of any video training. There was a scene in a hardware store in which a woman was lifting

One of my best friends was a straight A student but was so bored/not into school that she literally never raised her hand to answer a question ever. She was told by a lot of people (including family) that she wouldn’t amount to anything.

My friend’s husband refers to me exclusively as “Boy Named Sue.”

We have a version of this in my family too, though it’s called frozen fruit salad.  I think it’s cool whip, cream cheese, marshmallows, mandarin oranges, pineapple and maraschino cherries pressed into a brownie pan, sprinkled with chopped nuts and then frozen.  You cut it into blocks and let it unthaw a little to

There is a big swell of “female empowerment” movements going on that all have this shitty ethos. If you’re not succeeding, it’s all your fault and you just need to sacrifice more and work harder. It’s part of the schtick MLMs are selling (check out the podcast “The Dream” if you want to learn all about MLMs), it’s
