As a DC resident, FUUUUUUUUUCK HIM.

Through all the turmoil our government is going through right now I can’t help but fear that rather than discovering our government is filled with smart but deeply flawed, complex characters harboring dark secrets we’re finding out in real time that our country is ruled by a bunch of small, petty, greedy men just like…
When my Grandpa died at 91, we were trying to bury him on a budget since my Grandma needed whatever money was left to live on. She, my Mom and I went to the funeral parlor to pick out a casket. The Director showed us the cadillac of caskets right off the bat. It was something like $7,000. My Grandma barely had a tooth…
I saw them at Wolf Trap (outside of DC) a couple summers ago when they were trying a lot of new material. It was awesome. I hope some of those numbers worked out because I’d love to see how they changed between then and now.
I’ve played co-ed softball for about 18 years, kickball for 12 and volleyball and dodgeball for a couple seasons each. The answer is for women to be the captains. My friend and I (both women) manage a kickball team and have for years. Our game plan is made clear from the moment someone joins the team. A) If you fight…
Ditto (7th floor DC apartment, but same diff). That’s a gorgeous creature.
My Mom is a good cook and used to love my Italian neighbor Liz’s sauce, so Ann invited her over one day so she could see how she made it. She browned down a ton of ground beef and sausage and then just started adding everything else without draining ANY of the grease. My Mom nearly died. She definitely incorporated…
I’m also always sweaty and I also commute via train (plus a 10 min walk to/from the train). I live in DC...home of swamp ass. I bought a package of white handkerchiefs on Amazon last summer and keep them in all my bags....purses, sports bags, etc. You can use them to dab all the sweat beads off yourself so at least…
Rats recently nested in a friend’s car and ate through the wiring to the point at which they had to get a new one. Now they have a new car defended by a perimeter of rat traps and the hope that none of the feral cats in the neighborhood will take the bait instead.
OMG thank you for this article. I found a new personal hero today!
I liked this scene but it also annoyed me. We’ve already seen just how quickly and aggressively everyone in the town gossips, but somehow word hasn’t gotten back to Adora that her young daughter is skating all over town in outfits that are a bit less prim and proper than her Lily Pulitzer uniform? Hmm...
She’s also only been a royal for a hot minute. My lord, considering all the etiquette she’s probably had drilled into her head in the last few months vs. a LIFETIME of crossing her legs at the knee, the woman is bound to “do it wrong” (eyeroll) once in a while. Cut her some damn slack.
Aside from being insanely beautiful, Karreuche Tran is a really great actress. She’s on “Claws” which is a delightful, fun show. I am really glad she’s been able to put Chris Brown in her rearview mirror.
This is 100% my feeling. I love my friends’ kids. I like being around them and being supportive. No desire to have my own.
She’s also a pretty funny writer. I loved this article, in which she talks about the physical (but mainly the mental) transformation that working on this show has been. https://www.glamour.com/story/glow-star-betty-gilpin-what-its-like-to-have-pea-sized-confidence-with-watermelon-sized-boobs
Whoa. You’re whipping it out at the mall?
SECURITY!
I signed up for some sort of free magazine subscription I was offered through work and realized I could make my title anything I wanted on the subscription form, so soon I was receiving magazines addressed to “Admiral SueDisco.” It was a nice little ego boost every time one came in the mail and my co-worker had to…
I downloaded the app while in Whole Foods in DC yesterday. You can connect your phone number to through the app and then use that at checkout, just like you would a rewards card at Giant or Safeway.
I just saw that on Facebook a few minutes after posting here!
My friend Julia (who is an expert in this area of law) is quoted in this article: https://www.elle.com/culture/career-politics/a21527715/zero-tolerance-immigration-policy-trump-administration-questions/
