Ummmmmmmm...

People have been bellyachin’ about American Dad! over on the AVCAD a lot this season, but I for one am enjoying it quite a bit. Is it golden-age quality? No, but it’s a shit-ton better than any of the other long-running animated shows.

Nah... if it doesn’t “have women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ characters in them with agency and their own stories tell” then it’s pretty stale stuff.

Oh well, buying it anyway.

Hey, I definitely think that more diversity, complexity, and marginalized voices need to be in comics. Nothing I wrote implied otherwise. The problem here is that Mage isn’t bad because there are other more diverse voices that could do Matt Wagner’s Mage better, that’s nonsensical. It’s presumably bad due to a host of

Having the sick impulse to call the cops, from the site of one of the worst flood disasters in American history, to report victims of that flood for looting a supermarket; but also: a crime

Good lord. Where am I telling you how to do your job? And why would I know what 90 percent of your interactions are? I mean that’s shitty for you and is too bad if it’s something you have to deal with daily, but that doesn’t have anything to do with a good faith question. Man, hope the rest of your day goes better, I

wow, Is that directed at me? Kinda at a loss on how mentioning one thing I was curious by (one I’m not even sure I disagree with) is as confrontational and insulting as you’re implying. I would think that something you wrote would be up for, y’know, discussion on a comments section. Good to know that any gentle

I’m sick of media writers who obnoxiously use “y’all” and “you guys” to address people. It’s like they came from the same factory.

“Fridged Edsel”? Heroically losing your life in battle against the very evil you’ve sworn to destroy is being fridged? Jesus Fucking Christ.

Hey, good to know. I have read more than a bit of previous coverage and have noticed that you do cover alternatives to the norm. It seems like an odd criticism in a Mage book is all — I think most of the people who read that comic know what they’re getting (I’m not a fan fwiw).

Well said. I look forward to the response.

how about complaining about hollywood’s cultural insensitivity, then suggesting a bunch of koreans for a japanese role?

This doesn’t sound good. But I do wonder about this statement: “There are other, better comics about predestined heroes, and many of them have women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ characters in them with agency and their own stories tell.”

I just wish people weren’t violent! What’s wrong with peacefully protesting? Anti-racism activists get to go home knowing that their message was heard loud and clear, and white supremacists get a platform to spread their message of racial cleansing.

Need an update on whether the Left is violent too. On one hand, we are supposed to be appalled when anyone suggests Antifa or BLM has violent members; and on the other hand everyone is supposed to punch anyone identified as a Nazi.*

So basically “south-koreans” thinks north-koreans aren’t people and are but hurt outsiders don’t discriminate on north-koreans like they do. South korea seems like a horrible racist place, would much rather go to Japan, haven’t heard them getting but hurt over anything koreans make, this hate seems to be one sided.

Everybody’s so damn prickly these days. Some guy said a stupid and possibly offensive thing, but it’s not cause to avoid buying the game or have an existential crisis, or anything. Shit, if I boycotted multimedia just because someone associated with it was an idiot or said or did something offensive, I’d have precious

and I thought Americans were snow flakes. jesus christ
