That was Amy looking at the elevator with Fran.

Who would have thought that Apple's 1984 commercial was wrong not because IBM did not give us "1984" but because Apple gave us a "Brave New World"?

The teacher/pupil thing startles me as well! I think of Orwell and Huxley as being pretty much the same generation. Also, Orwell died before he was 50, whereas Huxley lived into his 80s and dropped a lot of acid, so he seems more "contemporary." But I just checked, and Huxley was 9 years older - born in 1894 to

Oh hai Fran Kranz and Amy Acker! I've missed you.

That's always been my thought, too. Transport might be a bit of an issue (I mean the getting-there part, in the midst of mass destruction).

I'm looking forward to this movie like crazy but yeah, terrible poster.

Always want more Gorillaz. But this needs more Noodle!

Did you say ALOT?

Too bad the X-Files never did anything with this story.

The white mice are the problem.

a) Oldman was robbed last night, and b) I've seldom seen a movie with such a strong supporting cast - including also Mark Strong, Tom Hardy, Ciaran Hinds ... just whoa. (And yeah, I loved Cumberbatch's Peter Guillam, a character completely different from Sherlock Holmes.)

When not in character he appears to be one of the most delightfully goofy human beings out there - all smiles and odd wardrobe choices.

You are correct, according to the interviews I've read. He decided not to go for Doctor Who on the grounds that the role is too iconic - a bit of a trap for an actor. Then he took on Sherlock. Which - lovely for us, but he has totally made it iconic.

Now playing

Here's a minuscule scenelet from Atonement, in which he plays a rapist. Shudder.

A fan in Japan actually recreated the coat - really convincingly - and posted about it on tumblr. That's commitment.

Speaking of time-locks, I'm not getting how Cumberbatch is not being crushed under the weight of his schedule: Star Trek AND The Hobbit right now, to be followed by (why?) what appears to be a romcom with Liv Tyler (seriously, why?), then presumably Series 3 of Sherlock - just off the top of my head. Not sure how

The Daily Express, which means three sacks of salt, but OH YES PLEASE.

Also in RadioTimes, which is a touch more reliable, but they're quoting the Express, so who knows? Or - Who knows.

Unf, that gif.

Needed this. Am happy now.
