@RedSharpie: If you aren't an ex of the groom's and your outfit doesn't look like Morticia or something you'd wear to a funeral, then hey. That's what I think, anyhow! And if you're still feeling unsure, a bright scarf or necklace or brooch will help, as will lipstick.
@EndangeredRed: Nonsense, I say roundly. My mom wore a red lace suit to my afternoon wedding, and looked perfectly lovely and appropriate. And elegant, but she always looks elegant - not a trick I've gotten down.
