The housing non-profit I work for became HUD-certified to do loan modification/foreclosure prevention work (free, neutral) during the crisis because there were so many scam artists and HUD put the money into training non-profits and funding staff to get people away from scams. That department (I am in a diff one)…

Meh, parts of HUD (namely the part that gives out money). It’s gotten better recently, though.
