I got robbed at gunpoint at 1AM in Downtown St. Louis. I was sober. My friend and I gave the guy our purses. He rifled through them, took the cash, and handled them back. Didn’t want the digital camera or anything else in there. Just the cash. It’s not traceable. The cops asked us to describe him and what happened.

Love how she has a FASHION sponsor! As a larger lady, I am all about this. She rocks. I also like her crazy socks and patterned knee things when she competes. Totally fun.

I have had gastro issues for 20+ years. All sorts of irregular bowel movements (and what goes with that), bloating and gas. When I am stressed out, it gets particularly bad — noticeable bloat, constipation & the resulting hemorrhoids, acid reflux.

This. I don’t generally like to come off as a conspiracy theorist, but the Russia-Trump connection is a bit difficult to ignore. And why would Russian hackers hack the DNC and release the information in such a filtered way if they weren’t trying to derail the dems?

I had a number of friends who posted a similar article this past week:

My kid dream job was to be a pro bono attorney (Which I am). My current dream job is to be an attorney that gets paid to do housing policy for the government (and makes a shit ton more money that my meager salary right now).

Absolutely you can say no. You cannot be forced to testify unless a subpoena has been issued, even from a lawyer. And even then, you can request that the judge quash (make go away) the subpoena if you can show that your testimony is not relevant. The next time you get such a request, or a subpoena, talk to HR—they

What does she do? I have a few of those. We have a new one that we have to basically give him instructions on how to do his job even though he is in a different department.

Ugh. I have to move b/c the owners want their house back (why do they need to procreate!). I live in Silicon Valley, and live on a non-profit attorney’s shitty salary. Plus, I work at a fair housing organization which means, when I look at Craigslist, all I see are places I have filed complaints against, yelled at, or

At least it wasn’t Applebees?

Eh, we jews don’t want any part of this. We’re capable of filing our own lawsuits if we really feel like it...

why is this what appears to be corned beef sandwich not on rye? sacrilege.

Same. I can save and budget, but investments? Clueless. When I was a teen, my dad actively started learning about that stuff so they could invest for retirement, and they’ve been very successful at it, despite my parents not having college educations/working in blue collar jobs. I have asked my dad to help me out — I

Sigh. I have more acne now at 31 than I did at 16. I randomly developed eczema this past year, too — on my eyelids and under my eyes, and only when I am stressed out. But omg when my eyes water, the salt makes it BUUUURN.

So, one thing to note about San Jose’s rent stabilization ordinance is that it is very very weak. Unlike in San Francisco, it is not coupled with just cause eviction — tenants can be asked to leave for no reason whatsoever. Under the ordinance, if a tenant leaves voluntarily or is asked to leave for good cause, then a

I hate Greystar. They’ve been taking over a number of properties in Silicon Valley lately, and they are kind of shit to deal with from the housing advocate point of view. Also, I just kind of hate dealing with corporate housing providers. They care nothing for their tenants.

I’d agree. Not the best of neighborhoods. They’re also tearing down all the old theaters and building Santana Row 2.0 with shops, overpriced housing, and offices. The thing is, these units aren’t meant for every day people. Hell, they aren’t meant for families. They’re meant for young professionals who don’t care

Sigh. I work at a partner organization to the Law Foundation, and we are going to see so many of these people come through our office because they can’t find housing they can afford. So many are disabled, seniors, families with children, racial/ethnic minorities. They are also going to go out into the market and face

As a local, I have been following this case a bit. It pisses me off to no end that Brock, his dad, his lawyers — they have all focused on the alcohol. They were both drinking, therefore they are both at fault. Except that, I don’t know, HE WAS CONSCIOUS WHEN HE INITIATED SEXUAL CONTACT WITH HER AND SHE WAS NOT. It

I just can’t bring myself to care about this kid and what happens with his life. He has shown absolutely no remorse, and his father is making it clear who we have to thank for raising this entitled, unapologetic rapist. Cry me a fucking river, Dan.
