Leave Posh alone! Gee.

Your first comment: rude.

The answer to your question is Title IX. The school had a duty to provide her assistance and investigate her claims. It failed.

“Hernandez stumbled back to the party and found her friends. When she told them what happened, they immediately took her to the hospital. Hernandez spoke to police, and her mother flew out the very next day.”

If I’m reading this correctly, the victim did go to the police. The rapist is serving 20 years for the conviction. Their completely valid suit against the university is that they refused counseling services to the victim (likely in hopes of shutting her up so their athletic program wouldn't get more bad press).

As an editor, I NEVER get complaints from female authors. ALWAYS challenges from male authors.

She’s thinking of a TV housewife, not a real one. And I think that’s the problem: what we (those of us under 40-45) know of housewives in the 50s is shaped by what we saw on TV. I Love Lucy. Bewitched. Grease. Mad Men. That’s whole “housework in a cute dress” thing is a fantasy. Of course the women wore dresses while

Not to mention that the reason why the vast majority of black Americans don’t celebrate being Ghanaian, Zulu, Xhosa-speaking, or whatever other granular-level identity would be comparable, is because they don’t know even one aspect of their deeper-rooted cultural heritage. Because their ancestors were torn from those

Even if this had nothing to do with sexism, he's still weirdly hypocritical. Like how he gets all offended that someone thought he might be lying about when he sent the piece to the editor, and then a few paragraphs later starts claiming the editor is a liar because he never got her emails?

“In America you can’t even talk about whiteness,” said Drew Domalick, who lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin. “If you try to embrace being white, you are portrayed as being a racist”

This is also really homophobic. He keeps bringing up gay men in disparaging (and unnecessary) ways. Nobody cares about your gay friend who liked to hit on straight guys and now lives in his mom's basement, Jacques.
