You seem like a lot of fun.
You seem like a lot of fun.
Yes but does this commercial pass the Bedschel Test?
I think Odenkirk was wrong - the podcast bubble is surely bound to burst before the sketch comedy bubble. The oversaturation is just madness at this point.
Of course, this has the most comments on the AV Club right now. Which begs the question - isn't it a wonderful coincidence that the dawn of the Age of Constant Internet Outrage coincided with click-based revenue becoming a viable business model?
Plenty of things are sexist, and should be addressed. My qualm is with the fever pitch of pervasive Internet outrage that serves no purpose other than to get clicks and make people hate each other.
Can I be a strong supporter of more female protagonists and fully developed female characters, and also hate the constant and counterproductive "everything is sexist" narrative that is sweeping the internet?
I am an unapologetic lover of the Sharknado films, and here's why - they play it straight. It's done, as most great bad movies are, as if it were MEANT to be taken seriously, even though everyone involved knows what a ridiculous thing they're a part of. It's the same thing that made the original "Piranha 3D" so much…
OH WAY TO GO SNL, ANOTHER WHITE MA…. oh. Well then.
Wait a second … would this series have reunited the comic team of Phil and Lem from "Better off Ted"? Now this is doubly heartbreaking!
Honestly, I was really looking forward to this until I heard who was writing it. A reboot? Fine. An all-female cast? Why not? Awesome. The writer of "The Heat"? Come on Hollywood. This is one of the most beloved franchises in movie history. Don't give the reins to some hack, regardless of gender.
The thing I'm worried about is definitely not the all-female cast. The thing I'm worried about is that this is being written by the person who brought us the total hack job "The Heat".
SNL's MLK Jr. "I had a really weird dream last night" sketch with Jamie Foxx was a straight up ripoff of an article from The Onion's "Our Dumb Century".
Historically accurate or not, this title is EVERY bit as sexist as that Jeopardy! category. #SMASHTHEPATRIARCHY
Holy FUCK.
You guys are really cranking out the Daweses these days.
"OH, ANOTHER WHITE MAN!" - The Internet
Oh great, two white men, etc. etc. etc.
I'm tired of people making jokes about things that make me uncomfortable.
Tesla's pal Stanford White is another personality worth investigating. A playboy architect famous for his debauched lifestyle, he was murdered by an insanely jealous fellow socialite on the roof of Madison Square Garden which later spawned a huge, scandalous trial.
I'm still holding out for a live action movie starring Joan Cusack.
