That actually made me laugh out loud.

Before she swore allegiance to Caitlyn, I recall Brienne made Caitlyn Stark promise that she “wouldn’t get in the way” when the “time came.” Meaning, “I’m gonna gut me some Stannis when I see him.” lol
Thin man.
Horses, ravens, and pigeons all have it pretty bad in Westeros, eh?
I will note that even though the movie is pretty much terrible, I will still watch it when it comes on the teevee, if I’m bored enough. THAT is the POWER of sci-fi! :)
I will never say that ONE film “ruins” a genre, etc. That is just hyperbolic nonsense. However, some major style changes, successes, or failures have tremendous consequences. I recall a MAJOR FLOP that sent the entire sci-fi industry into full-on panic mode. Typical Hollywood nonsense. Big star. Bad Script. Bad…
All excellent points. But, to be a bit more focused, I’d say that Lucas FIRST belittled his best work by REWORKING his best work and re-releasing it (insert major cash-tit sucking sound).
Alas, there’s still so many Jack Vance novels not adapted for teevee or film. So. Many. Awesome. Novels.
You must be a space alien, ‘cause you’re outta this world!
After much consideration, I have decided that the character I miss the most in the show is Mormont’s Raven. Personally, I think that chatty corvid knows more than everyone else does in that damn story!
Agreed wholeheartedly. I wish they had the time to touch on those themes. I think what you outlined is the real victim of being limited to 10 episodes. But, too many more episodes runs the risk of having too much fluff, I think that the show does a damn good job considering its limitations.
Agreed. Oberyn was awesome. When we re-watched last season when it came out on DVD, my wife and I drank this beer during the fight scene, and actually raised a toast in his honor...
As would I! Hell yes.
Fair enough. Let’s hope that this season’s Dorne is just all set-up for future seasons, rather than the next couple of episodes. If it all gets resolved by the end of this season, I will be disappointed. If they turn all this set up into something larger next season, that may well be worth it. Here’s hoping!
Agreed. That was facepalm worthy. But considering the limited amount of time they have to get all the stories in, not entirely surprising. I bet it saved some money on the production costs, too. lol.
The seafaring stuff in the books had some very cool parts, to be sure. I think that the show would have been better served with some more of that if tied to Asha/Yara (who I think is a very cool character in both the books and the show, and severely underutilized. I’m not entirely sure the show would have been better…
I have been holding out hope for that since I heard he was cast. Thus far he has been WAY underutilized!
Exactly! Not to mention his internal struggle of losing his swordhand. That was all good stuff!
