I use instapaper for anything that I hope to read later, and everything else I try to close out once a day (except the dozen tabs that are always open).

I'm not buying a computer that's not a computer. I want to be able to install my own software and not have to buy everything through apple.

What does "do not use defagment" etc mean? Does that just mean that you can't just defrag that drive or that you can't defrag the hd at all anymore? It sounds like the former, which makes sense, but it'd be nice to have some specifics.

Don't forget taxes. Freelancers have to pay SE tax in addition to income tax, and that always hurts. And after the first year, you have to pay estimated taxes, too.
