Car people: “Why do companies have so many crossovers? It will kill them when gas prices go up!

I say scorn if it makes the vehicle operate worse than it would otherwise. Which I guess means that speakers blasting fake exhaust noise is a step above the popping exhaust on a naturally aspirated or supercharged car unless it requires extra speakers that are heavy enough to affect how the car drives....

Wrong number of doors.

As a brooding geek, I resent the generalization that we all like Watchmen. Or have read it. Or even had any idea it existed before that awful movie. Or have read any comic b- oh sorry I mean graphic novels.

Second car was a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Laramie regular cab with the 5.9L V8. I sort of miss it, but not much. It’s mostly that it was built to take the level of abuse that you now get on our crumbling streets without missing a beat and it had the correct number of doors for a pickup.

I am not a fan of that rear wing. As others have pointed out, it doesn’t quite look right with that style of rear spoiler, but I don’t think I’d like that wing design even without it. If you’re going to do a rear wing, I say go big or go home!

I probably live in a poster child for sprawling cities. I’ve watched areas that used to be surrounded by corn fields turn in to strip malls and housing developments. People move farther out from the city trying to get away from the crime, corruption, noise, trash, etc. Suburbs offer tax breaks or cheap land to get big

I think unexpectedly long stays in an airport go better with a minimum of baggage. So do short stays in an airport. Actually, I think all travel is better if I travel light. People have been amazed at how little I take on business trips.

the infotainment system in your Volvo will be capable of updating its software and OS via its own integrated WiFi, so the XC40 shouldn’t ever be plagued by the whole “shitty outdated infotainment system from four years ago” problem that seems to arise every time a newer, better model year is introduced.

Longest conventional commute was 35 miles each way, best-case drive time was about 45 minutes if you drove with any trace of good sense. There was a stretch of highway where people would commonly do around 90 in the mornings, but that was balanced by construction and congestion elsewhere. There were quite a few people

I have the same problem with the science and technology in TV shows and movies, some things would be so easy to get right and still look good on screen but they get them wrong.

Maybe purple plastic in the quantities they’re buying is cheaper than yellow.

I don’t really understand the brand distinction between Chevy and GMC. I know GMC is usually positioned as the slightly nicer brand, but it’s kind of like Chevy’s trim levels are 1-2-3 and GMC’s are 2-3-4. I think the top-tier GMC is pretty similar to the base Cadillac for some models, but there you’re going to a

I’m sure everybody from 1960s Jalopnik-equivalent would claim an automatic cigarette lighter/dispenser makes them less connected to the car and insist that any real driving enthusiast would want a built-in matchbox and cigarette case instead.

In your case, wouldn’t it be even better to have a single button to auto-open all 4 windows?

Not in the market but randomly curious, checked my local autotrader listings. There are almost no used Stingers within 100 miles, and some are barely priced below new (in one case not far short of sticker, though I didn’t check how many options it had added). I don’t know if that means Stingers are selling well around

If the Suzuki Hustler became popular, would an enthusiast gathering be called the Hustler Club? No, wait, that name is already taken.

I still do not understand the appeal of wood trim inside a car. I think there should be less wood on the inside of cars and more wood on the outside.

Red Ferrari 308, as driven by Magnum, PI. Swap engine with a Dodge 5.9L Magnum, because there needed to be more Magnum in Magnum. And while explaining it to people you should be carrying a .357 Magnum revolver. Because you can never have enough Magnum.

Truck?
