Frank doesn't just want the case closed quickly. I think that's what the corrupt officials think he wants. He needs to find out who killed Caspere so he can get his money back. So, ironically, the criminal is leaning on Velcoro to actually solve the case while Velcoro's bosses are telling him just to keep an eye on it.

You know, a lot of people were complaining about the aerial shots of the factory last week, but this week I thought these shots were fine. The factory is at the heart of everything and the maze of highways all lead to and from it. It's maybe a little heavy-handed but I don't mind it.

I was not impressed by the writing in Season 1 but I thought there were some well-written scenes in this episode.

I didn't understand why Farrell holstered his gun after seeing that blood.

Yeah, all the people who called that last week were right. I wasn't sure until his mother started laying it on thick about "all the girls".

I like Jack and I like Bella, but Jack and Bella together kind of bore me.

Yes, they do. They are badass.

The recording device is in the office but it gets recorded in Martha's handbag. That's why Philip has to see her, to get the recordings.

My mother always washed her hair in the sink. Lots of people did.

It's definitely a problematic premise for the show, though. Theoretically it's the whole reason for the show but practically it creates a lot of inconsistencies. It just isn't possible for Philip and Elizabeth to pull off all the different kinds of tradecraft they are capable of — the amount of physical training alone

He didn't need to discuss that concern with her. He didn't need to read those reports. He's either a creep or he's working an angle.

Looked fairly in medias res to me.

Honestly, I thought it couldn't have been clearer that she was waiting with a bored look on her face, while he was kissing her neck, for the right moment to start the fake hysterics.

I don't think he was venting. I think he was just reminding Oleg of the party line and making it clear he knows what Oleg is up to and isn't impressed by him.

I think that having her announce her plans via phone messages will forestall any of this going that far.

But those kids are supposed to be Average American Kids, not cutting-edge record store hunter-gatherers.

I think they could do a better job than they are doing. Elizabeth's Jackie wig was perfect for that era; surely they could do something like that with Martha's hair rather than giving her that sixties-looking thing she's got. I think her character's hair would be bad, but in an up-to-the-minute way.

We didn't know what was going on in England from 80-82 until 83 over here.

There was also that remark Philip made about Elizabeth not wanting them to have any friends, which seemed to piss her off a bit.

It's not just formal. It's not quite like saying Mr or Mrs here. It's more just nonintimate. First name by itself is almost more like using a nickname would be here.
