@Jon Tran: The thing is, I don't think it will be. GWFL's marketplace is a bit late and the list of GFW titles is pretty low (even more so for Live titles). There simply isn't a whole lot to offer that isn't already widely available elsewhere. I also don't think MS has the infrastructure or initiative to combat the

@Zonrith: It is sad. The thing I don't get is why they don't tie online cross-platform for PC users to a controller? Make it so that you can only play against 360 users if you are using a controller. Unreal Tournament 3 for the PS3 allowed for kb&m only, controller only, or hybrid servers. I don't understand why

@-MasterDex-: "no matter how inevitable it's failure may seem."

Hmm. Glad I passed on Borderlands (even during the 33% Steam sale). While I think it is a great concept and I'm glad it was able to be realized, it doesn't seem like a game that I would stick to. Hopefully, if they make a sequel, a lot of the hang-ups can be addressed and corrected. From what I've heard, the

@papercube: My only gripe with most sports games is when they don't have training or practice modes. Winning Eleven (Pro Evolution) was always good about this. They had training drills for ball control, setting up headers, long passes, etc. It made learning the ropes incredibly easy and gave you a clear idea as to

@jeremycole: I'm not a huge CliffyB fan, but I do agree with him that controls need to be simple and intuitive. I think the control scheme for Gears is pretty flawless. It just feels right and is very easy to use. If you want to get good at the fast reload and stuff, that can take a bit of finesse, but it's not going

@-MasterDex-: In somewhat of a related note, I'd love to see someone ask if CliffyB plans to stop making the Gears series for the 360 due to rampant piracy of games like Modern Warfare 2.

@Guitarzan2k5: "essentially making it Diablo with a massive chatroom in the form of cities." Kind of, yes. PvP tends to be the main draw, though people do still routinely do the storyline in both regular and Hard Mode.

@(Starman) Starman: Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Origins, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Bioshock, and Guild Wars all have great OSTs.

@That mop mutant from NES.: I wouldn't say wane, but I'm not going to squeeze out some game time for every spare moment. Friends, work, housework, other crap... y'know, life. Every few nights, though, I gleefully load up Dragon Age and rip through Darkspawn, or L4D2 and whack some zombies, or TF2 and uber up some

@That's What She Said: The first MGS was pretty easy to follow. I enjoyed the 2nd one, but loved the changes in the 3rd and found its story pretty easy to follow, too.

@Lion_Knight: Watched the Dawn of The Dead remake last night and all I could think of was, "you guys would be screwed if a Spitter came up on your asses..."

@DirtyColossus: I pre-purcahsed L4D2 and Dragon Age, but I did get Crysis and Crysis Warhead during the recent sale. I'm tempted buy Borderlands, but more so by GTA4 and Sims 3 on D2D. So many choices... so little time...

@Manuel Calavera, Reaper Supreme: lol

@Paradox me: The THQ pack is an AMAZING deal. It's a good deal even at it's regular $100 pricetag. Unfortunately, I already own the only games in there that I would play, so there's no point. I would've gotten the Lucas Arts pack if Battlefront II had been in there. And they need to release Full Throttle on Steam.

@Cerabret100: The haters are woefully misinformed. Steam is the best service out there, hands down, IMO.

Direct 2 Drive sales:

@DirtyColossus: I've been checking back as soon as that Steam holiday sale clock sets back to zero. Bought KoTOR (even though I have a boxed copy, you never know when the discs might meet their end), Dead Space, and gifted a copy of L4D.

@GhostKamikaze: Really!? Man, you're in for a treat! Taris (the first planet) can be a bit boring, but the game really opens up once you get off of there. I just wish KoTOR II was on Steam. :(
