Tum again? What, nothing?
Tum again? What, nothing?
I’d bet not for a couple of seasons, but assuming they make it to AS6, put my money on that
I’m always a sucker for the queens who maybe lack in the looks department (according to this show, at least), but who turn it out in pretty much every other way. Drag doesn’t have to always be fashion and high art, but it should always be bold, queer, and above all else, entertaining. So, yeah, Monet was my favorite…
They like drama that doesn’t make the show look bad though. AS3 drama would have involved a lot of anger towards the producers and the twist and how the show fucks over the queens intentionally.
Hah she can’t win with everyone, that’s fine.
I think this season was better than several of the past couple regular seasons, personally. For one, a majority (though certainly not all — looking at you, Breastworld and Tap That App) of the challenges were good, and that’s something that the show has struggled with since S7, most notably in S9 which was jam packed…
There was probably no reunion because AS3 was a mess by the end -- the queens knew it, the producers knew it. They wanted it out the door, which is why they had S10 debut LITERALLY the week after. They at least gave AS2 some breathing room before S9 started.
Yep I’m aware, I try not to broadcast spoilery stuff like that though
Also, there are queens who will obviously be in contention for future AS seasons — Asia, Eureka, Kameron, Cracker, Monet, Vixen, Blair, Monique. They’re in contention either for their track record in the competition or for how they popped in the show.
I love how this finale seems to be making some Sasha haters reconsider their respect for our former reigning now. “Oh she just won for reveals.” She won for smart, well-designed, well-executed performances. No queen topped either of her lip syncs from last year’s finale this year. Maybe they couldn’t have, maybe the…
She’s only worn the loaves a couple of times this season. If a queen can do bare-chested looks repeatedly (Aquaria) or the same just-been-fucked hair (Kameron) all season without being critiqued for it, I have no issue with Eureka using the loaf 3 or 4 times out of like, 16 looks.
lol yup. I think Ru’s approach to similar (though not identical, given the time period) circumstances as The Vixen’s was to steel herself and elevate herself no matter what. I think The Vixen is more conscious of the message she sends to other queer people, particularly people of color, and so she’ll never take kindly…
You’re making Hannah Arendt nervous
Regarding the Parks and Rec episode... it never occured to me that someone may have that opinion hah. It’s a real standout episode from the series for me. But to each his own.
Let’s see. Accusations of hacking, an anti-media/critic narrative, a weirdly bloated man’s ego being hurt because people don’t love him enough, trolls spreading misinformation out of boredom and a desire to “stick it to the man”...
Ummm, Adele Dazeem says otherwise
Hadn’t heard of Control until this article but now I’m pretty pumped for it. It has elements that remind me of a lot of great games, like Portal, Perfect Dark, Prey, and even some BioShock.
Someone told me the Dowd-exposition was added after test screenings left people totally confused by what happened, which is unfortunate, as it was that last-minute touch that really stood out as the weakest part of the film.
I’ll forever prefer DC to Marvel, and the DC movies make me embarrassed to feel that way. When these things can actually embarrass their fanbase (and long-time comic fans have high tolerances for embarrassment), they just have to know how badly they’re messing up. And yet I still feel like WB doesn’t get it.
Right. When I read that comment in the stray observations, my mind went immediately to “Billy Pilgrim has come unstuck in time,” which seems like an obvious connection to a show with an intentionally hard-to-discern timeline.
