The fact is there really shouldn’t be a Department of Education in the first place.  The Federal Government’s true responsibilities, as established by the Constitution, do not include education.  Instead of a 7.8% decrease in funding, it should have a 100% decrease.

Penn State is one of the most expensive state schools in the country, I get what you’re saying but they’re a bad example. 

If you went to Penn State your debt is pretty low compared to most people as it is a state school and also tends to hand out a lot of free money.
