the way I read it was that the other passengers were already off/gone from a normally filled flight that got cancelled, he got the crew to play along while nobody else was there and before the plane was moved or whatever they were doing with it in the meantime.

not every game supports cloud saves. you kinda have to check each game to see if it does or not.
