Except you get different configurations of the gun and you don’t even use the gun itself that constantly what with being able to throw...everything...at the enemy pretty quickly. Also the gameplay is about varied as possible in a 3rd person explorer/shooter game...

I think at one point I looked and had over 2 years of logged in time on FFXI, this was like 8 years in to playing it, and I wasn’t one of the people that left an AFK bazaar up at night.
You can beat FFXI! Kind of. After you finish the Chains of Prometheus expansion, the game has told a complete story and you get an end credit sequence, which to me marked it as the successful completion of the core experience and the expansions that came after were more separate, like DLC. It was the last FF game…
