Thank you for for this. I found it really refreshing to read something so honest and educating. Also for the use of the word (these) acknowledging that not all white people are racist dicks!

Pretty much all articles on race on Jezebel go this way. A group of open minded people, trying to discuss how to end racism and educate people. Then a few posters will come along argue that pretty every white person is ignorant/racist/making it all about them, say some offensive stuff, pretty much lose the argument

I'd really just take it as a compliment. I always wish I had dark eyes, i think theyre so much more intriguing then blue.
Yeah I work in a bar where people think its fine to ask invasive questions all the time such as;

“Where’s the Southern Comfort?” When presented with a hamper of goods by US ambassador, 1999

I'd take it as a compliment some of the most beautiful actresses in the world are jewish. I've had the Jewish thing asked once or twice (jewish grandmother) but my nose is small, so I don't think its necessarily based on your nose. Though some idiots do assume anyone with a big nose/ hooded type eyes MUST be Jewish.
On

I wonder if Kim Kardashian cringes a bit when he says something like that? I would...
Also could this be the start of Obama vs Kanye west twitter war, that'd be something to see!
Edit to make clear the above line is sarcasm.

As long as they don't blatantly do it, I don't mind. We're all programmed to look, the only problem is if more attention is paid to our bodies than our words.

But she's dissmissing me because I'm white.

I'm sick of you all. Ok, here you go here's what you want to hear;
No person ever in the history of the world other than black people have ever experienced any sort of racism discrimination or prejudice. No black person had ever been racist or discriminative ever. Fuck what any other minority has been through it

Did I say they didn't exist at all?
No I didn't.
Slaves existed in the UK but there were a LOT more in the USA hence the fallout of slavery is a lot more of an issue in America then it is here.

Yes I'm aware white people have more power and black people are discriminated against more in day to day life. That needs to change. I know that, but what I don't think ModMudd and the others understand is that two wrongs don't make a right. Just because she is discriminated against doesn't make it right for her to

Exactly, I'm of English, Irish and Jewish heritage. Slavery wasn't as prevalent in the UK but my ancestors probably worked for little or nothing in mills or farms. Discrimination should stop and I hate the view that its something only experienced by black people when it affects everyone.

Yes the oppression our families faced within living memory were many millions were killed means nothing just because we have less melanin in our skin.
P.S don't ever let them think your opinion doesn't matter, your opinion and feelings matters just as much as theirs. Its people who think like them that promote bigotry

Exactly this, but now apparently I'm a troll. I'll never understand how its acceptable to say offensive things about people of other races regardless of what race it is. If a man said I was being a misandrist I would at least let him have an opinion. If a woman hates a man purely because he is a man, tells him he has

Well then don't be a racist ignorant fool then.

Oh stooping to urban dictionary insults. Intelligent. You admit oppression exists within the religion but say that the poster can not suffer from said oppression because the religion itself is not oppressive. Makes no sense.

Thats because you'd be using the appropriate phrase 'the patriarchy' not 'all men are' next time use the phrase 'system of white supremacy' instead of 'white people'.

Also Islam isn't a patriarchy, no institutionalized oppression? Are you for real? Have you never heard of the the oppression of women in the Middle east? The war that is Israel vs Palestine?

But its what she wants to talk about!!! She along with many other people take probably take offense at being told we don't care and being told what we think. The original posters comment actually fits the definition of racism in that racism is; ' the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics,
